I always have a book in purse. This book is my I am waiting book. Sometimes in life you are stuck at places. Maybe it’s soccer practice, a doctor’s office or the DMV. Having a book in my purse helps me get my reading in and pass the time.

This months book is

Congratulations, By the Way: Some Thoughts on Kindness by George Saunders

So far I have really enjoyed this book. It is a commencement speech given by George Saunders to Syracuse University. So far I have laughed a little, but mostly it has given me sometime to really think about be kind to those you come into contact with.

This is the book I listen to when I am working around my house or at the gym. Sometimes even at the grocery store. This is my I am to busy to read, book. If you would like some ways to score free audio books check out this older blog post!

This months book is:
The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry
Gabrielle Zevin
I haven’t started this book yet, however what drew me in was the description. When looking for a book on goodreads I noticed this passage in the description “-an unexpected arrival that gives A.J. the opportunity to make his life over, the ability to see everything anew” So now I have to read it! You should too so I have someone to talk to about it on my Facebook Page! (lol)

This months selection is Mary Poppins by P.L. Travers. It comes after discovering the new Mary Poppins movie and just falling in love with it! Megs and I have loved it so much we haven’t been able to put it down! It is magical, funny and all around enjoyable. Loving the book I will tell you that it is nothing like the movies, each chapter is like a little story. Mary Poppins is vain and can be seen as rude however I still find the world magical. Read it for yourself and let me know what you think!

So this is what is on my book shelf this month, what is on yours? Join me on Saturday Mornings where we can talk books on my Facebook page!

  1. I need to start carrying a book in my purse. I usually have 1-2 books on the kindle app on my phone that I can turn to when I am waiting. I am currently reading We are all made of Stars by Rowan Coleman. I just started it, but am enjoying it so far.

  2. Right now, I’m more into academic books, as opposed to books for leisure and pleasure. Thanks for the inspiration though!
